About Bareboat Catamaran Lagoon 46
The 2020 Lagoon 46 is purpose-built for self-skippered sailing in the Mediterranean. Four guest cabins, each with private en-suite facilities, sleep up to eight comfortably. Two additional single cabins forward accommodate crew if you elect to engage a skipper or hostess. The saloon connects seamlessly to the forward cockpit through sash bow windows, creating an airy, light-filled living space. The aft deck accommodates eight guests around the al fresco dining table, making the catamaran equally suited to intimate cruising or larger group charters.
The Lagoon 46 represents a significant evolution from its predecessor, unveiled at the 2019 German boat show. Refined interior and exterior spaces, combined with improved sailing characteristics (larger sail plan, shorter boom), make her notably easier to handle on bareboat charters. This is the working definition of accessible luxury for experienced sailors.
Highlights
- •Four double guest cabins with private heads, accommodating eight guests
- •Spacious aft deck with al fresco dining for eight, plus forward cockpit seating
- •Watermaker, generator, GPS plotter, and galley with gas stove and oven
- •Kayaks, paddleboards, and fishing gear available to supplement your charter
The Charter Experience
Northern Sardinia remains one of Europe's finest sailing grounds. Departing Portisco, you have direct access to La Maddelena's sheltered anchorages, the crystalline waters of Costa Smeralda, and the historic fortifications of Bonifacio just across the strait. The region rewards both purposeful passage-making and leisurely anchorage exploration. Provisions and repair services are readily available in Portisco, Palau, and Porto Cervo. The Tyrrhenian Sea here typically offers moderate conditions and excellent visibility from May through October.
Suggested Itinerary
A week from Portisco allows you to explore La Maddelena's anchorages, sail the rugged Costa Smeralda coastline, and visit Bonifacio's medieval old town. Most bareboat itineraries balance protected waters (ideal for anchor-and-swim days) with moderate open-water passages that showcase the catamaran's stability and ease of handling.
