About Bareboat Catamaran Lagoon 42
This 2023 Lagoon 42 is a bareboat catamaran based in Salerno, offering four double cabins plus two single forepeak berths. The hull design delivers stable, predictable sailing whilst the interior prioritises the generous accommodation that defines this class. Four heads serve the guest quarters.
Below decks, the apartment-style saloon and U-shaped galley provide ample workspace for meal preparation and gathering. The catamaran's twin-hull configuration eliminates the compromise between performance and comfort that narrower monohulls demand. Lagoon's reputation rests on three pillars: structural stability, interior volume, and quality furnishings that withstand salt and time.
You'll find a bathing platform, solar panels, generator, microwave and freezer. Kayaks, paddle boards and fishing tackle are available to hire separately. Note: bareboat charter in Italian waters requires either a valid skipper's licence or engagement of a professional skipper, who will occupy one cabin and require meal provision.
Highlights
- •Four double cabins sleep eight guests comfortably; two additional single berths available
- •New-build 2023 catamaran with modern systems, solar power and generator
- •Generous saloon and galley with full provisioning capability
- •Ideal platform for Amalfi Coast, Capri and Ischia exploration
The Charter Experience
Salerno positions you perfectly for the Amalfi Coast and Gulf of Naples. From your berth, you can reach Positano's pastel cliffs, Capri's Azure Grotto, and the volcanic rim of Ischia within a day's sail. The waters here reward both confident sailors and those content to anchor in crystalline bays whilst the catamaran's stability lets everyone sleep soundly. Summer winds are reliable; anchorages are plentiful and well-protected. This is not charter tourism, it is sailing Italy the way locals know it.
Suggested Itinerary
A typical week from Salerno traces the Amalfi Coast eastward, with stops at Positano, Praiano and Ravello (anchor offshore). Push south to Capri for early morning swimming before crowds arrive, then north to Ischia's natural hot springs and lava-stone shores. Return via the Sorrento Peninsula, timing your final approach to Salerno for a sunset passage. Wind and tide permitting, divert to Paestum's Greek temples on the mainland, or linger in any anchorage that calls.
