About Bareboat Sailing Yacht ZAYA
ZAYA is a Dufour 412 Grand Large built in 2020, purpose-designed for sailors who demand both performance and comfort. The generous hull volume and beam create one of the roomiest layouts in her class, with three double cabins accommodating up to six guests. Whether based in Newport, Rhode Island during summer or Nassau, Bahamas in winter, this yacht delivers the seaworthiness Dufour is renowned for without compromising on onboard living.
The cockpit maximises available space with multiple sunbathing areas and an expansive aft deck, ideal for entertaining or simply unwinding between sails. Below deck, you'll find full galley amenities including a gas stove with oven, refrigeration, and freezer, plus hot and cold pressurised freshwater throughout. The inclusion of solar panels, shore power, and an inverter ensures modern conveniences at anchor.
Sailing performance is handled by a full-battened mainsail, furling genoa, and lazy jacks for effortless management. Navigation and safety systems are comprehensive: GPS chart plotter, autopilot, VHF with remote, depth sounder, and a full complement of anchors and emergency equipment. A 15HP outboard and 3-metre RIB tender complete the package for exploring shallow anchorages and remote islands.
Highlights
- •Three double cabins sleep up to six, each with private access and adequate headroom
- •Full galley with gas oven, separate freezer, and hot water throughout
- •Modern electronics including GPS plotter, autopilot, and VHF with remote handset
- •Kayaks, paddleboards, and fishing equipment available for hire during your charter
The Charter Experience
Charter ZAYA from Nassau and explore the Exumas, a 700-square-mile archipelago of turquoise shallows, deserted sandbars, and exclusive anchorages accessible only to shallow-draft yachts. Alternatively, base yourself in Newport and sail Southern New England, threading between maritime villages, lighthouses, and the sandy beaches of Rhode Island and nearby islands. Both regions reward capable sailors with excellent wind patterns, established anchorages, and watersports opportunities. Should you prefer a skipper, one can be arranged to occupy the forward cabin whilst you relax and learn.
Suggested Itinerary
A week from Nassau typically reaches the Exumas chain, with anchorages at Thunderball Grotto, Compass Cay, and the Swimming Pigs at Pig Beach. From Newport, sail south toward Martha's Vineyard and Block Island, or explore the quieter anchorages around Narragansett Bay and Rhode Island's coastal towns. Both itineraries suit sailors of intermediate experience and reward early starts with favourable winds and secluded holding ground.
