About Bareboat Catamaran SV SAILMATES

SV SAILMATES is a newly built Lagoon 46 offering uncluttered living for self-skippered exploration of the British Virgin Islands. Four double cabins with en-suite heads provide private quarters for up to eight guests, whilst the saloon's panoramic windows flood the contemporary interior with natural light and uninterrupted views across the water.

The catamaran's layout prioritises outdoor living. The aft cockpit serves as the social hub for al fresco dining, while the generous foredeck invites quiet moments and conversation. A flybridge sunbathing platform delivers 360-degree perspectives of the archipelago. Below deck, the galley is thoughtfully equipped for self-catering or crew-prepared meals, supported by air conditioning, a generator, solar panels, and a watermaker for extended cruising comfort.

Highlights

  • Four ensuite double cabins accommodate eight guests with private, defined spaces
  • Recently launched 2024 vessel with contemporary fitout and modern navigation systems
  • Saloon with panoramic windows and light-filled interior; aft cockpit and foredeck for outdoor entertaining
  • Self-sufficiency at anchor via watermaker, solar panels, and generator; VHF, GPS, and dinghy included

The Charter Experience

Tortola's position as the BVI's primary hub makes it the natural launchpad for island-hopping through one of the Caribbean's most rewarding sailing grounds. The steady trade winds, shallow anchorages, and close-set islands create ideal conditions for both seasoned sailors and confident cruising crews. From The Baths' sculptural granite boulders to Norman Island's sheltered anchorages and Jost Van Dyke's laid-back beach culture, the BVI rewards both purposeful sailing and unhurried exploration. Nanny Cay's full-service marina provides support before departure and upon return.

Suggested Itinerary

A typical week begins with departure from Tortola, exploring the nearby Baths and surrounding reefs before crossing to Norman Island for overnight anchorage. Days two and three venture towards the crystalline waters north of Virgin Gorda, with stops at Mosquito Island and Leverick Bay. Mid-week typically includes a passage to Jost Van Dyke's Great Harbour for provisioning and local colour, followed by quieter anchorages amongst the northern islands. The final days allow for a leisurely return via Cane Garden Bay or a final reef exploration before returning to Tortola.
