About Bareboat Catamaran Lagoon 450
The Lagoon 450 is a refined twin-hulled platform built for bareboat independence. This 2014 model combines the proven design lineage of Lagoon's successful 440 with contemporary engineering and layout refinements. Four cabins provide flexible accommodation, whilst the generous saloon and deck spaces reward those who prefer to chart their own course.
Natural light dominates the interior through hull-side portholes, overhead hatches, and expansive saloon windows. Pale wood finishes and clean lines create an uncluttered, modern aesthetic that doesn't announce itself loudly. The catamaran's shallow draft and stable platform make her equally suited to protected anchorages and open passages across the Sir Francis Drake Channel.
Highlights
- •Four-cabin layout with private heads and separate galley
- •Dual helm stations and unobstructed deck sightlines
- •Shallow draught suited to BVI's protected anchorages
- •Based in Tortola with access to 50+ island destinations
The Charter Experience
Bareboat charter in the British Virgin Islands demands confidence and seamanship, but rewards both with unmatched flexibility. The Lagoon 450 performs well in the trade winds that define the region, whilst her beam offers stability for guests less accustomed to sailing. Tortola sits at the heart of an archipelago of anchorages within a day's sail of one another, from the Bight at Virgin Gorda to the Anegada reefs and the Jost Van Dyke group to the west.
Suggested Itinerary
A typical week might depart Tortola for the Bight at Virgin Gorda (two hours), continue to Anegada for pristine reefs and conch salad ashore, then westward via Prickly Pear to the laid-back beaches of Jost Van Dyke before returning via Great Camanoe and Scrub Island.
