About Bareboat Catamaran Lagoon 420
The Lagoon 420 is a purpose-built bareboat designed for self-drive charters across the Leeward Islands. Her symmetrical twin hulls create generous cabin spaces, whilst the open-plan cockpit remains intuitive enough for a single helmsman to manage all controls from the helm station. Built in 2008, she combines the shallow-draft advantages of catamaran design with the comfort expected by those familiar with larger vessels.
Four cabins, each with a central double berth, ensuite shower, and substantial hull windows, provide comfortable accommodation for groups of friends or families. The saloon and cockpit flow seamlessly, creating natural gathering spaces both on and below deck. Wide side decks and a rigid bimini top make movement around the vessel straightforward, even in tropical sun.
Highlights
- •Dual-hulled stability and shallow draft ideal for Leeward Islands anchorages
- •Single-handed sailing capability with centralised helm controls
- •Four private cabins with ensuite facilities and abundant natural light
- •Charcoal barbecue, stereo system, and rigid shade canopy for extended time on deck
The Charter Experience
Charter the Lagoon 420 for unfettered exploration of Tortola, the Grenadines, and beyond. The BVI's protected anchorages, shallow banks, and consistent trade winds reward confident sailors with pristine anchorages and minimal motoring. Provision from Tortola's well-stocked markets, then anchor in secluded bays where few other vessels venture. The included dinghy opens access to isolated beaches and snorkelling sites unreachable by larger charter yachts.
Suggested Itinerary
Depart Tortola for the Sir Francis Drake Channel, island-hopping to Virgin Gorda's Baths and Prickly Pear Island. Continue south towards the Grenadines, anchoring at Bequia and Mustique, or remain within the BVI for a more leisurely pace, exploring Jost Van Dyke and the Anegada reefs.
