About Bareboat Catamaran Lagoon 42 (2017)

The Lagoon 42 offers practical, comfortable accommodation for groups seeking bareboat independence across the Indian Ocean's most coveted archipelago. Built in 2017, this catamaran combines the shallow-draft stability of twin hulls with straightforward systems ideal for experienced sailors. Based in Mahe, she sleeps up to 10 guests across four double cabins and two single cabins positioned in the forward hulls, each with private facilities.

Bareboat charter means you navigate, provision, and command your own itinerary. This freedom appeals to confident captains who value autonomy over crewed service. The yacht includes snorkelling equipment and a tender with outboard engine, enabling exploration of lagoons and anchorages inaccessible to larger vessels. Bed linen and bath towels are provided; everything else (crew, provisions, fuel top-ups, post-charter cleaning) remains your responsibility.

Highlights

  • Twin-hull stability and shallow draft reach anchorages larger yachts cannot
  • Four double cabins plus two singles provide flexible sleeping arrangements for groups
  • Snorkelling gear and dinghy included for reef exploration and island landings
  • Bareboat freedom to set your own pace across the Seychelles archipelago

The Charter Experience

The Seychelles rewards self-sufficient sailors with protected anchorages, crystalline waters, and islands ranging from granite peaks to coral atolls. Navigate between Mahe, Praslin, and La Digue, or venture further to the outer islands where few vessels venture. The charter runs from 2pm on day one through 9am on your final day. Minimum duration is five days (seven days at peak times), though longer periods attract meaningful discounts: 5% for two weeks, 10% for three weeks or more. Early bookings earn a 5% reduction. A 50% deposit secures your dates; the balance is due two months ahead.

Suggested Itinerary

A typical week explores Mahe's sheltered bays before sailing northeast to Praslin, anchoring near Anse Lazio's white sand and granite boulders. Continue to La Digue for protected anchorages and the famed Anse Source d'Argent, then venture to smaller islands like Felicite or the Cousins reserves where snorkelling reveals healthy coral gardens and abundant marine life. Experienced sailors may push further afield to the outer islands for true remoteness.
