About Bareboat Catamaran Blue Butterfly
Blue Butterfly is a Lagoon 380 catamaran purpose-built for island exploration in shallow Bahamian waters. The three-cabin layout provides genuine comfort for six guests, with two heads and a galley designed for entertaining. Her shallow draft and twin hulls deliver the stability and manoeuvrability essential for navigating the Exumas' protected anchorages and white-sand cays.
Lagoon Yachts' design philosophy centres on lived-in luxury. Teak details, generous cabin proportions, and forward trampolines for sunbathing reflect decades of cruising wisdom. Solar panels and a freezer support extended island time, whilst a Bimini provides respite during afternoon heat.
Highlights
- •Dual helm stations with unobstructed sightlines for confident navigation
- •Three double cabins with ensuite head access from master cabin
- •Shallow draft permits beaching on sand bars and entering lagoons inaccessible to monohulls
- •Integrated galley, dining saloon, and wraparound seating for six in one open-plan space
The Charter Experience
The Exumas reward bareboat sailors with over 300 islands, each offering distinct appeal. Anchor at Compass Cay to swim with nurse sharks, or beach at Thunderball Grotto where crystalline water invites snorkelling. Pig Beach's feral swine are Instagram-famous for reason. Most anchorages remain unpopulated, allowing genuine seclusion within Nassau's reach. Kayaks and paddle boards (available to hire) extend your exploring range beyond the yacht.
Suggested Itinerary
A typical week departs Nassau towards the northern Exumas, anchoring near Thunderball Grotto and Compass Cay before pressing south to the idyllic Pipe Creek and Staniel Cay. The second half favours Warderick Wells, home to the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park, and the isolated southern keys. Prevailing easterly breezes and predictable anchoring conditions suit both experienced captains and those hiring a professional skipper.
